Spotlight: Christmas 2020

The Christmas season lights me up! Since I was a child, I have loved anticipating every part of the holiday. One of my best memories is of my parents dragging a heavy tree that they had chopped down in the woods back to the house by sleigh. Trimming it together became a family tradition.

Holiday décor holds a special piece in my heart. Would you call it an obsession if you had an entire garage filled with holiday decorations? Well, that is exactly what I had for years until I realized that I really did not need thousands of ornaments when just a few hundred would do. Even though I have downsized my holiday ornament collection, I still love decorating my own home and capturing holiday traditions worldwide with my camera.

So, to brighten your holiday, I'm sharing images of holidays both near to home and afar. We may not be able to travel right now, but we can fill our environments with sparkle and joy. All the best for your season ahead. May it be filled with love and beauty, and dreams of future holidays when we can all be together again.

New York City creates new memories or keeps family traditions strong for both visitors and residents. Rockefeller Center’s gigantic live Christmas tree symbolizes the spirit of the city. It is transported in every November from a select countryside location to be brightly lit and photo-ready. After visiting the tree take a stroll down 5th Avenue to see the amazing department store holiday windows!

Below is a bit of magical light and color from past Christmas trees I've decorated. I genuinely look forward to the holidays every year.

I'm never quite sure which takes longer to prepare - the decorations or the baking!
